What inspires you?

When an object has been designed with characteristics from another object, the boundary between two entirely different areas has been broken. For example a furniture can be designed to something to wear on body... as long as the objects are functional, these will inspire me.

What do you find interesting/ fascinating/ important?

When I come up with an idea, it's really important for me to test the idea out, and have further exploration base on the initial idea. Also getting comments from others, whether they're positive or negative. I find it's interesting to look at the latest designers or artists' works, they have the most progressive ideas.

what do you like to observe? What do you like to experience?

I like to observe the most common things occurs in the surrounding that most of the people may not realised. I am not keen to have new experiences, but I think it's important for me to always try new things, visiting new places, talking to new people, trying new materials...

Which artists or designers are you interested in or admire? Why?

I really like a designer from Japan named Oki Sato, he use minimal design in an object, but the outcome is always fascinating, and he can detect what the consumers are demanding.

Which artists do you know in your discipline? What are there theme, how will you find this out?

Tadao Ando is a Japanese architect, although he isn't an interior designer, but his architecture work also involves interior and spatial design. Because he is from Japan, the religion and lifestyle in Japan has influenced him a lot. He is emphasising nothingness to represent the beauty of simplicity. Sometimes, less is more.

What is conceptually and intellectually challenging to you?

When I came up with an idea of concept, I find it's really challenging for me to explain to the others, make the others understanding my concept. Also I want my ideas can keep pace with the times.
